Welcome to my opnsense Installation project. Where we will be installing opnsense on VirtualBox.

I've always wanted a blog. Just a space where I share my very wrong opinion about what I think about Technology. And when I say Technology, I mean enterprise level technology. There's so much to learn and not enough time, sometimes it feels like I'm drinking water out of a firehose with the amount of stuff you need to know.

If I were to talk to my 23 year old self and give advise to him, I would definitely say to start learning PowerShell from day 1. In these days, if you want the big bucks, knowing how to automate your task will get you there. And of course after knowing scriping through powershell, learning other languages like Python or Go, would be much easier. Also I felt as if I spent too much time in Helpdesk/Service Desk. Sometimes the work can get a bit too comfortable and it makes it hard to leave. I think that's what happened to me, but I am happy I stayed, I was able to get promoted a few times and eventually get the job at that I want.

But going back to my conversation to my 23 year old self, learning powershell, build a functional homelab and read more books and not just tech books, there's value is learning how to win friends and influence people. Get into cloud computing sooner than later, and learn to ride waves. Whatever is the big thing at the time, try to hop on it and see how far you can go, you never know what might happen. And I guess networking would also be one. Going to conferences and meetups might be a good way to spend my time.

And of course, don't forget to have fun, because life is short and you don't want to spend it being stressed and burnt out.
